Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about counseling, care, and what to expect—so you can feel informed and supported from the start.

How can counseling help me?

Counseling can provide support and guidance in navigating personal struggles, promoting emotional well-being and growth.

What can I expect in a counseling session?

In a counseling session, you can expect a safe and supportive environment to explore your thoughts and feelings, set goals, and work towards positive change.

Is counseling confidential?

Yes, counseling sessions are confidential to protect your privacy and support trust in the therapeutic process. There are legal and ethical limits to confidentiality—such as safety concerns or court orders—which will be clearly explained to you before we begin.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I currently accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, and Quest Behavioral Health. If your plan is out-of-network, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Can I attend both individual counseling and wellness group?

Yes, you’re welcome to attend both individual counseling and group sessions. Many clients find that combining one-on-one support with group connection deepens their healing and growth. We’ll work together to find the right balance for your needs and goals.

How long does therapy last?

The length of therapy varies based on your goals, needs, and pace. Some clients benefit from short-term support over a few months, while others choose ongoing sessions for deeper healing and growth. Together, we’ll regularly assess progress and adjust as needed to support your journey.

Do you work with children, teens, or families?

Yes—I work with children, teens, and families. My practice specializes in supporting young people through life’s challenges, and I also offer family counseling to strengthen relationships and foster connection across generations.
